Accutane Settlement

$18 Million Dollar Accutane Settlement

Two former users of Accutane were awarded $18 million in damages in a New Jersey court. Roche Holding was ordered by the court to provide the signficant settlement. Bloomberg News reported that the jury ruled that the Swiss firm did not properly warn users that Accutane could cause inflammatory bowel disease. Four individuals were part of the suit. The jury rejected the claims of two individuals while awarding $9 Million dollars each to the other two parties.

"We are pleased that the jury found on behalf of Kathleen Rossitto and Riley Wilkinson and provided a measure of justice for the horrible injuries inflicted upon them by Roche's drug," Bloomberg News quotes David Buchanan, an attorney for the plaintiffs, as saying.

Accutane was formerly Roche's second highest-selling drug. In 2009 the company opted to discontinue selling and distributing the medication.

If you or a loved one have taken Accutane and experienced symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel) or other similar health issues we urge you to contact MedRecallNews for a free consultation.
