Defective Hip Implants

DePuy Hip Implants Worldwide Recall

DePuy Hip Implant RecallDePuy Orthopadedics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, has issued a worldwide recall of it's ASRTM Acetabular System for Total Hip Replacement, after determining that these hip implants may fail at an alarming rate.

The "metal-on-metal" composition of these implants can release particles into the patient potentially causing serious and painful reactions-sometimes requiring complete revision surgery.

Reportedly, Johnson & Johnson has been seeking medical releases from Recipients so that their claim adjustors can speak with you directly and possibly take down statements without your having counsel present. This is an unwise action for any recipient of these defective devices.

Having a defective hip implant in your body clearly demands having your own lawyer. You must be very cautious with dealing with the manufacturer or its representatives without proper legal representation.

Yaz is a popular Birth Control Medication

Yaz is a popular contraceptive and PMS medicationYaz - Yasmin Side Effects Under Scrutiny

Yaz, also known as "Yasmin" and "Ocella" is a Birth Control Medication made by Bayer that has been marketed for birth control and also for PMS and Acne. Yaz has come under suspicion as potentially increasing the risk of various blood and heart issues including Blood Clots, Thrombosis, Stroke, and Heart Attack. Have you taken Yaz and experienced health problems?

These are serious health matters that can be life threatening.

Side effects include: Blood Clots, Breast Lumps, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Blood Clots in the body's deep Veins that interfere with healthy circulation, Gallbladder Disease (as well as other digestive problems), Heart Attack, Hyperkalemia, life-threatening levels of Potassium in the blood, Liver or kidney damage, Pulmonary Embolism (PE), potentially fatal Blood Clots in the Lungs, Stroke, and Death.

In 2009 the New York Times covered Yaz and explained, "Birth Control Pills work by altering a Woman's Hormone levels. Researchers have long known that taking a combination hormone birth control pill — which contains estrogen and a Progestin Hormone — can increase the risk of Stroke and Blood Clots in the legs and lungs. That is because Estrogen can play a role in blood coagulation."

Gallbladder Trouble?

In addition to blood clotting injuries related to the contraceptive Yaz/Yasmin, Plaintiffs’ Attorneys are investigating claims that the fourth generation Birth Control Pills also cause Gallbladder problems. The litigation has been consolidated in Multi-District Litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio under Judge David Herndon. The suits, which number several hundred, allege that Bayer failed to warn about increased risks caused by the drug’s Progestin component, Drospirenone. So far the suits have focused on injuries that involve Blot Clots, such as Deep Vein Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolisms, Heart Attacks and Strokes.
